Salary: SO1 £38,169 - £41,487
Location: Police Headquarters, Aykley Heads and Hybrid working
Hours/Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday

The Role
To elicit requirements and perform system analysis and design, identifying potential efficiencies at system design level, supporting the successful implementation of technical change that meets user, business and architecture requirements. Undertaking post implementation review to ensure end users receive a quality service that delivers value. In this role, you will be expected to use your knowledge of technology, user needs and business goals to frame problems and set priorities, while working within the parameters of the Departments Service Level Agreements, the Service Catalogue and ITIL.
As a Business Systems Analyst at Durham Constabulary you will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful implementation of technical changes and performing system analysis and design to identify potential efficiencies.
You will be part of a small team who will work to deliver solutions to the business.

What You’ll Do
You will be an excellent team player with the ability to analyse requirements, identify best process and constantly look for ways to improve. Reviewing change initiatives appropriately and supporting their implementation through your technical, business and user knowledge.
Particular experience of Business Analysis, Modelling and Process Testing is required. You will examine existing and new systems for improvements, report common issues, evaluate performance and recommend new procedures.
Experience of Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to document, visualise and identify potential areas for improving process efficiency - for example in identifying items such as motion, defects and waiting within process flows would be advantageous.
Working in a fast-paced environment requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, alongside analytical skills, investigative work and ability to adapt and learn on the job. You will be communicating with numerous internal and external stakeholders around requirements and system specifications which will need to be clear and concise.
Whilst our job description includes a multitude of requirements to cover the diverse nature of the role, ideally for this position you would have some knowledge around operating models, process analysis, systems analysis and stakeholder management.
