Hi, I am the Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector for Peterlee and the surrounding villages. I have performed this role since 2022. I joined Durham Constabulary in 2006 as a PCSO and became a PC within the organisation in 2008. Over the last 17 years I have performed various operational roles; Response PC, Sgt and Insp, Hate Crime Insp and Alcohol Harm Reduction Insp and now NPT Insp. I enjoy this role as it enables me to build community relationships, address local issues, prevent crime and pursue criminals.

Off-road bikes used illegally often cause noise nuisance, danger to pedestrians and damage to local green spaces. Taking these vehicles off the road helps prevent accidents and restores peace in our neighbourhoods. This remains as one of the priorities.
Issued 19 May 2026
This is an ongoing priority and officers will continue to address ongoing off road bike issues, this includes:
-High visibility and unmarked patrols in affected areas
-Intelligence gathering in partnership with other agencies
-Use of section 59 powers to seize vehicles involved in anti-social or illegal use.

Shoplifting:
Shoplifting isn’t a victimless crime – it impacts local businesses, raises prices for honest customers and can contribute to wider issues of antisocial behaviour. Being visible helps us deter crime and support shop owners directly.
Issued 19 May 2026
Action taken by police to tackle shoplifting includes:
-Dealing robustly with offending involved in shop theft offences
-Seeking remand for repeat offenders to appear at the next available court hearing
-Applying for Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) against persistent offenders to help prevent further offending
In recent weeks, officers have secured a Criminal Behaviour Order against a male repeat offender in response to ongoing offending behaviour.
