I have over 20 years’ experience working on the police front line. I worked previously in neighbourhood policing which I thoroughly enjoyed and was passionate about. I am excited to return to this role and I am here to work with our partners and ensure my team are focused on what our priorities are.

I have already witnessed for myself the impact electric and off-road bikes ridden around the streets and the town centre is having on the community. This dangerous, illegal, and anti-social behaviour is something I want our team to combat.

As an Inspector I have my own ethos of Care, Standards and Quality. Ensuring my team show real support and empathy with an excellent level of professional service to the public.

My name is Sgt Matt Plumb, and I serve as the Sergeant for Darlington Town Centre. I lead a dedicated team of police officers and PCSOs, each committed to engaging with the community. I believe that maintaining a visible police presence in the town centre is essential for fostering trust and safety. You may notice me out and about in the area, and I welcome any enquiries or conversations.

I am a police constable based at Burnside Road in Darlington and I have been an officer with Durham Constabulary for 6 and a half years. Prior to joining Durham I was a Neighbourhood Warden for Durham County council for 11 years. I enjoy being proactive within the community, hopefully making a difference where possible. Over the years I have acquired various skills such as being a initial pursuit driver and trained in method of entry.

I’m PC Chris JONES, I am a Police Constable on Darlington Neighbourhood Policing Team, I have been with NPT for coming up 3 years and I currently cover Darlington Town Centre.
I am a Police officer of coming up 10 years service and I was a special constable serving the community of Bishop Auckland for 4 years before Joining as a regular.
During my service I have previously been a response officer, worked on CID and been a prisoner handling officer.
I am committed to tackling crime and anti-social behaviour that affects our local communities. I enjoy being an NPT officer as this allows me to get out and about within communities. I believe the engagement within our communities is vital to modern policing.

My name is PC White, and I am the Police Constable assigned to Darlington town centre. I am committed to decreasing crime rates and shoplifting incidents. I believe it is important that retail staff can perform their duties in a safe and positive environment, free from the concerns caused by a small minority. Additionally, I am dedicated to reducing traffic-related offenses in the area. In my free time, I enjoy playing golf.

I’m your local Neighbourhood Police Constable for Darlington. I started my journey with Durham Constabulary right here in Darlington back in 2019, where I developed a deep understanding of our local communities. In 2022, I transitioned to a Police Constable role within response policing, gaining vital operational experience and a firsthand look at the daily challenges and vulnerabilities facing our residents.
Moving into Neighbourhood Policing in 2024, initially in Barnard Castle and now back with the Darlington Neighbourhood Team. I am deeply committed to visible, accessible, and approachable policing. I believe that building public trust requires listening to what matters most to local residents and businesses and taking decisive action. By adopting a proactive, problem-solving approach, I work closely with local authorities, retailers, and partner agencies to tackle the root causes of crime. In Darlington Town Centre, my immediate priorities are reducing anti-social behaviour and shoplifting through targeted patrols, joint community initiatives, and transparent communication.

My name is PC Anwar, and I am a Police Constable with five years of service. I have been a member of the Neighbourhood Policing Team for over a year. I am committed to developing new skills and am dedicated to reducing antisocial behaviour within the community. I enjoy engaging directly with the public and frequently conduct foot patrols in the town centre to enhance community safety.

My name is PCSO Peacock. I am dedicated to reducing retail crime and addressing anti-social behaviour in our town centre. I believe the town should be a safe and welcoming place for all residents and visitors. When I am not on duty, I enjoy playing cricket and spending quality time with my family.

I am a Police Community Support Officer covering Darlington Town Centre. I joined Durham Constabulary in May 2026 after previously working in retail and in school. I have lived in the UK for over 15 years and have spent most of that time in Darlington, so I am pleased to be part of the local Neighbourhood Team. I enjoy meeting members of the community, listening to their concerns, and helping to keep the town centre a safe and welcoming place for everyone. I enjoy working in the town centre because no two days are the same, and I like being involved in local events and activities.
