Salary: £125,188 - £141,050 + Car Allowance + Local Government Pension Scheme
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Durham Constabulary is seeking an exceptional Assistant Chief Officer (Finance) to join our Force Executive team. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will shape financial strategy, drive performance, and support the delivery of policing priorities across the organisation.

About the Role

As a key strategic leader, you will:

• Act as the Section 151 Officer, ensuring the highest standards of financial governance
• Lead Finance, Estates, and Business Administration services
• Provide trusted advice to the Chief Constable and senior leadership team
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and resource management
• Drive efficiency, innovation, and best practice across enabling services

You’ll play a vital role in supporting the Constabulary’s strategic objectives while enhancing its profile both regionally and nationally.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a forward-thinking and experienced finance leader with:

• A degree-level education and CCAB qualification
• Significant senior financial management experience (5+ years) in a large organisation
• Strong understanding of public sector finance and governance
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and delivering complex projects
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills
• Political awareness and the ability to influence at senior levels

A full UK driving licence is required. This role is politically restricted.
