This Armed Forces Week, veterans and members of the Armed Forces community are being encouraged to sign up to the Forcer Protocol – a secure initiative designed to help police respond more quickly and effectively if someone is reported missing.
Hosted on Safe and Found Online, the Forcer Protocol allows individuals to securely store important information such as recent photographs, medical details, significant locations and emergency contacts.
The information is only accessible to police if the person is reported missing, enabling officers to begin searches with the most up-to-date information available.
The campaign recognises that while many veterans and serving personnel transition successfully through military and civilian life, some may experience challenges including post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, isolation or difficulties adjusting after service. During times of crisis, these factors can increase a person's vulnerability.
Having immediate access to vital information can significantly assist search efforts, helping officers locate missing people more quickly and increasing the chances of a safe outcome.
The Forcer Protocol is free to register and all personal information is stored securely. It is only accessed by police when a registered individual has been reported missing or there are concerns for their welfare.
Veterans, serving personnel and members of the wider Armed Forces community are encouraged to register today and ensure their information is available should the unthinkable happen.
