Recognising the work behind the results

This morning (April 7), we held a small gathering at police HQ to recognise colleagues across the Crime Command for their hard work and dedication.

Led by Detective Chief Superintendent Nicola Lawrence, and attended by senior leaders, the event highlighted the reality of what goes into complex investigations – the unseen hours, the detailed case building, and the commitment to getting it right.

From the late finishes, to the constant reviewing of evidence, to the interviews, file preparation, and CCTV work, all of which play a crucial role in securing outcomes.

Alongside investigations, the importance of ongoing training was also recognised with some colleagues being praised for successfully completing the National Investigators' Exam (NIE).

Each colleague was invited forward to receive their certificate, along with personal thanks from Assistant Chief Constable, Jon McAdam.

Your work does not go unnoticed. The impact you make across County Durham and Darlington is significant and today was an opportunity to recognise that.
