Man dies in A1 (M) collision

A driver has died following a collision on the A1(M) at the weekend.
Shortly after 11.40pm on Saturday, an Audi car left the northbound carriageway of the motorway between Bowburn and Carrville and collided with a roadside barrier, before overturning.
Emergency services attended but sadly the driver, a man in his 40s who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
A police investigation into the cause of the collision is underway and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
