A man has sadly died following an incident in Seaham yesterday.
Officers responded to reports of a disturbance on Stockton Road at around 4.50pm yesterday (Thursday, January 15).
A vehicle is believed to have collided with a pedestrian on the New Seaham Service Station forecourt, where a man in his 20s sustained serious injuries.
Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A murder investigation is now underway, and three people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The section of the B1285 between the Mallard pub and the petrol station is likely to remain closed for some time while inquiries are carried out.
Anybody with any information relating to the incident, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage in the area around the same time, is asked to contact Durham Police via 101, quoting incident number 281 of January 15.
