“Your beautiful face is everywhere we turn.”

The family of a girl who died in a collision near Shincliffe last week have paid tribute to her.

Charlie Olivia Slack was a passenger in a Fiat 500 when she was involved in a collision on Shincliffe Lane at around 5.30pm on Thursday, September 24.

Despite the best efforts of members of the public and emergency services, 15-year-old Charlie was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Today her family have said: “Words can’t describe how broken we are. 15 years is only a short lifetime in which to fulfil your dreams and conquer the world.

“Charlie was our beloved daughter, sister, auntie, niece, granddaughter, cousin and friend.

“Your beautiful face is everywhere we turn. We keep hoping you will just pop round the corner with one of your favourite sayings or your contagious laugh, singing and dancing, playing Fortnite, making us laugh with the biggest smile on your face.

“We can never fill the massive void you have left in our lives, but we take so much comfort in the precious memories you have left for us to treasure.

“We would like to thank everybody who cared for Charlie and for their efforts to save her life. The actions of the emergency services and members of the public have not gone unnoticed.

“Charlie will be loved forever.”
