Witness appeal after man dies in A1(M) collision

A man has sadly died following a collision this morning.
Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving three cars at around 11.40am, on the A1(M) Southbound between J57 and 58 near Darlington.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the driver of the Vauxhall Mokka, a man in his sixties, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Two other patients were taken by road to Darlington Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
The road remains closed while collision investigators work at the scene.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage of the vehicle prior to the collision.
