Murder investigation launched after man dies in Peterlee

Police have launched an investigation after a man sadly died in Peterlee.

Officers were called to an address in Thames Road shortly before midnight on Wednesday, September 23, following reports a man had suffered stab wounds.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital but sadly was pronounced dead a short time later.

Two men, aged 53 and 77, and a 73-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody where they remain today.

Crime scene investigators are currently examining the scene, and officers are carrying out enquiries in the area.

A cordon is in place at the scene and is expected to remain for some time.

Anyone with any information that could assist the investigation is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 582 of September 23.
