Man who died following Peterlee incident named

A man who died following an incident in Peterlee on Wednesday (September 23) night has been named.

Officers were called to an address in Thames Road shortly before midnight following reports a man had suffered stab wounds.

The man was taken to hospital but sadly was pronounced dead a short time later.

Today, he has been named as 51-year-old Dean Fishwick from Peterlee.

An investigation is ongoing and a police cordon remains in place while crime scene investigators continue to work at the scene.

A 53-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder remain in police custody.

A 77-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released under investigation.

Anyone with any information that could assist the investigation is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 582 of September 23.
