Appeal after man dies in Hamsterley collision

A man has sadly died following a collision in Hamsterley yesterday evening. 

Emergency services were called to the collision involving a van and a tractor in Crane Lane Row, just before 6.15pm. 

Despite the best efforts of those on scene, the 60-year-old passenger of the van was sadly declared dead at the scene. 

His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. 

The road was closed for several hours whilst officers from the Forensic Collision Investigation Unit began their investigation. 

Officers would like to speak to any witnesses, or those who may have dashcam footage of the vehicles leading up to the collision.
