Durham Constabulary are encouraging openness and accountability when it comes to stop and search.
In the first three months of 2026 we made 727 stop searches, resulting in 99 arrests with drugs located on 84 occasions and 7 bladed articles also being seized.
Stop and search powers are an important tool, but they must be used respectfully and proportionately.
If you’ve been stopped by our officers, your experience matters, and we want to hear from you.
We are actively inviting feedback from anyone who has ever been stopped and searched, whether that interaction be positive or negative, to help us improve.
If you’ve had an encounter, please consider sharing your feedback with us using the link below.
