Two people have been charged after a baby sustained critical injuries in Darlington.
Police were called to an address shortly before 2pm on Monday, May 26.
Paramedics also attended, and a one-year-old baby was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle, with critical injuries.
The baby remains in a critical condition and is continuing to receive treatment in hospital.
Two men, aged 24 and 25, and a 20-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the incident.
The woman and 25-year-old man have since been charged with causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm.
They have been remanded in custody to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court this morning (May 28).
The 24-year-old man was released on bail.
