Two people have appeared at court after a baby sustained critical injuries in Darlington.
Craig Neill, 25, and Amy Cave, 20, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court yesterday (May 28) charged with causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm.
Both were remanded in custody to appear at Teesside Crown Court on June 26.
Police were called to an address in the Branksome area shortly before 2pm on Monday, May 26.
Paramedics also attended, and a one-year-old baby was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle, with critical injuries.
The baby remains in a critical condition and is continuing to receive treatment in hospital.
A 24-year-old man who was arrested on Monday has since been released with no further action.
