Tributes have been paid to a man who tragically died in a collision at the weekend.

Police were called to the collision on the A688 outside Barnard Castle shortly after 6.30pm on Saturday evening (April 12).

The four-vehicle collision involved two motorbikes and two cars.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services, 37-year-old Andrew (Andy) Leaver sadly died at the scene.

The second rider sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains.

Andy’s family have now asked to be left to grieve in peace. Our thoughts remain with them.
