More than 4,000 calls dealt with over festive period

That’s the number of 999 calls our control room received between Christmas Eve and December 29.

299 of these calls were made on Christmas Day.

Our call handlers also answered 2,269 non-emergency 101 calls during the same time period.

Our opening hours are the same all year round - 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
