Did you know your phone can detect nearby tracking devices?
While tracking devices like AirTags can be a really simple way of keeping track of your stuff, we’ve found they can also be used by stalkers to track people without their consent.
If you’re worried someone might be stalking you, you can use your phone to scan for nearby unknown or unwanted trackers.
If you’ve got an Android phone:
If you’ve got an iPhone:

If your device locates a tracking device which isn’t known to you and you feel your safety is at risk, please get in touch with us.
You can contact us on 101, or online at www.durham.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/
In an emergency, always call 999.
You can disable the device to stop it from sharing its location, but please do not try and locate the tracker yourself.
