Cracking down on drugs where you live

The Newton Aycliffe neighbourhood policing team executed a drugs warrant in Hallington Head on Friday morning (December 12) after reports illegal drugs were being used at an address.

Officers gave the occupants a noisy wake up call after they cut through the front door and despite protestations by the woman inside, a quantity of drugs and this machete were found.

Both the drugs and the weapon were seized and a man and woman, both in their 20s, were arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.

They were both taken into custody and later released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
