Lumiere returns to Durham

Lumiere is heading back to Durham City for the final time.

As in previous years, organisers have put in place a number of security measures to ensure everyone enjoys the festival and makes it home safely.

What you need to know

Visitors are asked to look out for security stewards who will carry out bag checks and security screening at the ticket entry points.

There will also be a visible police presence each night during the event who will be on patrol both in Durham city centre and in Shildon (Locomotion), a new site forming part of this year’s festival.

No fly zone 

During the event, there will be a temporary airspace restriction preventing all drones flying other than emergency service drones.

Drone detection equipment and counter drone measures will be in place throughout the event.

The restriction will be in place from Thursday (November 13) to Saturday (November 15) between 3pm and 11pm.
