The heartbroken family of a woman who died in a collision on the A66 yesterday have paid tribute to her.
Mother-of-one Chloe Lightfoot, 33, was on her way to her Spennymoor home when her Citroen Berlingo van collided with a HGV near Bowes shortly after 8am on Tuesday (August 26).
In a statement her family said: “Chloe was a beautiful young woman, who was a mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, girlfriend, and friend to many.
“To never see her smile again is breaking our hearts. We are going to miss her every day.
“Our memories have never been so important to us as we try to come to terms with what has happened.
“We love her so much. She will never be forgotten.”
Chloe’s family are being supported by specialist officers.
