Tributes paid to biker killed in road traffic collision

The family of a man who tragically died in a collision in the Consett area last month have paid tribute to him.
Police attended the scene of a single-vehicle collision involving a black Can-Am motorcycle on the A692 Delves Lane roundabout at around 6.50am on Sunday, July 13.
Bryan Corrigan, the 62-year-old rider of the motorcycle, suffered serious injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement issued today, his niece Donna said: “My uncle loved his family and would always make time for us – even when he was ill. He would often come to visit me and my children on his bike and loved to show it off.
“My late mam – his sister – was his world, and he’d do anything for her. They were all each other had growing up.
“He loved to get up early and travel all over the place, and was even planning to visit Africa to complete his bucket list. He would tell us all about the places he was looking forward to seeing.
“He worked hard all his life, and successfully ran his own roofing company. He was sometimes misunderstood, but he had a great sense of humour and could be very funny. The people who knew and loved him will understand.”
