A man has died following a collision in Newton Aycliffe.
Police were called just before 5.55pm yesterday (June 3) to a collision in which a motorcycle collided with a car on Williamfield Way.
The 23-year-old rider of the bike sustained critical injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman was arrested in connection with the incident and taken into police custody, where she remains today.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is now under way, and residents will see an increased police presence within the area over the next few days.
Investigators would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has dashcam footage of the vehicles prior to the incident.
