A man has been charged with fraud and criminal damage offences following alleged home improvement scams in Darlington.
Police received calls last year from two residents in the West End area of the town reporting that a man had supposedly charged them for home improvement work that had not been completed.
An investigation was launched, and a 50-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incidents.
He has since been charged with a number of offences, including fraud by false representation, criminal damage, and theft.
Shane Foster, of Harrowgate Village, Darlington, appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (January 18).
He did not enter any pleas and was released on bail to appear at Teesside Crown Court on Tuesday, February 18.
