Village near Bishop Auckland sees 67% reduction in anti-social behaviour

A village near Bishop Auckland has seen a 67% reduction in anti-social behaviour thanks to targeted patrols and court backing.
Eldon Lane residents have seen a drastic reduction thanks to extensive work by Bishop Auckland police neighbourhood team and key partner agencies.
Following a series of incidents and subsequent targeted patrols, home visits, stop checks and intelligence submissions, officers were able to serve an eviction notice at a problem property in the village.
The patrols which were key in obtaining the eviction notice, were made possible by Operation Trailblazer, which looks to crackdown on anti-social behaviour across the county.
The operation is currently being ran across 34 hotspot areas, chosen by you, which are being patrolled daily by officers from local neighbourhood teams.
Neighbourhood Inspector Mark Edwards who oversaw the Eldon Lane result said: “Operation Trailblazer is not only about making communities feel safer but eradicating antisocial behaviour all together.
“We have seen a huge decrease in incidents in Eldon Lane which has been made possible by the hard work and solid partnership effort between all our partners.
“We are continuing to work with those same partners in other areas across Bishop Auckland to replicate these successes as we know ASB doesn't just go away, it's about consistent patrols and having open and honest conversations with residents who are suffering from these issues."
