A County Durham man has been charged following violent disorder in London last week.
Jordan Rawlings is believed to have been involved in the disorder which took place in Whitehall on Wednesday, July 31.
The 25-year-old of Ritson Avenue, Bearpark, is said to have chanted racial slurs.
He was arrested by officers at Darlington train station yesterday (August 8) and charged with using threatening or abusive words or behaviour that was likely to cause harassment, alarm, or distress that was racially aggravated.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court today (August 9).
