We are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision which left a man with life-threatening injuries.
The incident happened at around 8.40am yesterday (May 30) on the B6279 at Kinninvie crossroads, between Barnard Castle and Staindrop, and involved a vehicle recovery truck and a Vauxhall Astra.
The driver of the Astra sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
The driver of the recovery truck was uninjured.
Officers from Durham Roads and Armed Policing Unit would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who stopped to help those involved.
