Last night (Tuesday, June 21), 22 officers were recognised by the force in front of their family and friends at a celebration event for successfully completing their three-year Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship, in partnership with Northumbria University.
Chief Constable Rachel Bacon attended the ceremony and thanked the officers for their dedication to the training programme and policing.
She said: “It’s an extremely proud moment to see what our officers have achieved throughout their three years of commendable hard work, studying while learning their skills and craft as police officers.
“I’ve been greatly impressed by the commitment and dedication that our officers demonstrate in solving community problems and preventing crime.
“It is vital for us to ensure we have the right officers, with the right level of skills and training to deliver the very best service. These officers have been a brilliant addition in our response teams, helping to keep our local areas safe.
“I wish you the very best of luck as you progress further into your careers at Durham.”
