Prolific shoplifters jailed

It's been another busy week for the Ferryhill Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Carl Robinson was arrested and put before the courts for seven shopliftings and seven breaches of his restraining order. The 32-year-old, of Chester-le-Street, was sentenced to six months in prison and ordered to pay compensation to the shops.

Joining him was Aaron Horner who was sentenced to five months and three weeks in prison for five shop thefts. The 30-year-old, of Darlington, was also made subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order for two years and ordered to pay £270  in compensation.

Officers executed a drugs warrant was at an address in Chilton with 88 plants seized. One man was arrested and remanded to court.

Another man was reported to court for two shop thefts as well as a boy who was referred to youth offending for an assault and criminal damage.
