The hearing in the above will take place at The Glow Centre, Newton Aycliffe. The hearing will commence at 10am on Monday 12th October 2026 and is scheduled to last for five days.
ALLEGATIONS
It is alleged that between March and September 2023 the former officer committed a number of inappropriate and sexualised words or acts towards officer A and officer B whilst on duty, in the capacity of Acting Sergeant.
This was a breach of the standards of professional behaviour in relation to:
I.Authority Respect & Courtesy: Police officers will act with self-control andtolerance, treating members of the public and colleagues with respect andcourtesy.
II.Discreditable Conduct: Police Officers will behave in a manner, whether on oroff duty, which does not bring discredit on the police service or underminepublic confidence in policing.
The allegations have been assessed as gross misconduct which if still serving could have led to the former officer’s dismissal.
Members of the media and public may attend subject to the following conditions:
i.Any accredited member of the media attending the hearing must produce valididentification if required to do so.
ii.Any member of the media or public attending the hearing must adhere to allreporting restrictions imposed by the Chair and in any public record of it.
iii.The taking of photographs and the use of film or sound recording equipment duringthe hearing, except for official use, is prohibited.
iv.There may be parts of the hearing which are held in private session; if that is thecase, any accredited member of the media or public attending the hearing will beasked to leave during the private session and will be informed by the Hearings Officer when they can return.

The closing date for applications to attend is 8th October 2026 at 16:00.
The media may make written representations upon these directions to the Chair by 16.00 on 8th October 2026.
