The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Durham Constabulary as a Senior Health & Safety Advisor. The purpose of this role is to promote and provide advice in relation to good health and safety management and compliance with relevant health and safety legislation within the organisation.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Health and Safety Advisor you will act as a competent Health and Safety person to Durham Constabulary as required by Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, providing strategic advice and guidance to Durham Constabulary corporate body, the organisation, managers and workforce.
You will identify, research, and interpret Health and Safety Legislation, Health and Safety Executive Approved Codes of Practice, HSE guidance notes, HSE Industry Standards, NPCC Guidance, College of Policing guidance, relevant industry and sector standards and the provision of appropriate advice on best practice, safe systems of work, processes, equipment & training needs. Research and discover availability of all information sources and reference material as necessary.
