Officers and staff within this command take responsibility for local investigations, major crime, intelligence, safeguarding and forensics.

Local policing

This command includes our first responders and crime fighters.

The police officers responding to 999 and 101 calls work in this command, neighbourhood officers and Police Community Support Officers.

Operations

The Operations Command contains our force control room and our roads and armed policing unit.

Governance and insights

This command provides critical support to operational policing, it includes our media team and research and analysis teams.

Digital, data and technology

This command is responsible for implementing and managing change programmes across the force.

The people working in this command work on understanding how the demand placed upon the police is changing and how the force should respond to change in the most cost-effective way possible.

It also contains our ICT department.

People Services incorporates Human Resources, Learning and Development, and Professional Standards and Legal Services functions.
