The North East is staying at High Alert Level 2

The Government has today announced that our area will remain at High Alert Level Two.

Public health data shows some signs that the number of Covid-19 cases in County Durham and Darlington is starting to stabilise.

The vast majority of people are continuing to do the right thing. We would like to thank everyone who has done their bit to slow the spread of the virus through our communities by complying with the local restrictions brought in last month.

And we’d like to remind everyone that the best way to keep safe and ensure we don’t go into tougher Level Three restrictions is to follow the rules and guidance which are in place.

Our officers will be out and about at the weekend to explain the regulations and encourage people to comply.
