 Witness appeal after pedestrian is injured in Bishop Auckland


POLICE are appealing for witnesses collision after a man was struck by a car in Bishop Auckland.
The 72-year-old pedestrian was struck by a dark blue Toyota Yaris on Cockton Hill Road, outside Cockton Hill Working Men’s Club just before 5.45pm on Wednesday.
The man, who lives locally, was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital for treatment, although his injuries are not believed to be serious.
The road was closed for around three hours while officers from the collision investigation unit examined the scene. 
A spokesman for Durham Constabulary said: “Any witnesses who have not already passed their details to police on the scene or any motorists with dashcam footage who may have recorded the Toyota Yaris at the time of the collision are asked to contact us.
