Neighbourhood Watch

Neighbourhood Watch is a nationally recognised crime prevention initiative which encourages communities to work together to address local concerns.

Each scheme is different in that it is shaped by the community it serves and run by a community volunteer supported by a local police community liaison officer.

Being part of a Neighbourhood Watch scheme could not only reduce crime where you live but also entitle you to a reduction in your home insurance premium.
Over ¼ of all houses in Co Durham and Darlington are members of a Neighbourhood Watch scheme. That’s about 62,500 homes and over 100,000 people!

All over the area residents are getting together to say “No” to Crime, Anti -Social Behaviour, Graffiti and Littering and “Yes” to Safe and Active Communities.

If you feel your area could do with a Neighbourhood Watch scheme or you know anyone who would make a great Neighbourhood Watch coordinator please contact our Community Liaison Officer on 01325 406788 or email nhw.darlington@durham.pnn.police.uk to nominate.
