Description
As an ICT Applications Analyst at Durham Constabulary you will play a pivotal role in delivering the design, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of a multitude of police ICT systems and databases.
This is a dynamic and exciting opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies to ensure that service is maintained and constantly improved to mission critical parts of the business.
If you are enthusiastic, committed, self-motivated and lead by example this could be the perfect opportunity for you. You will require an aptitude for problem solving and be an excellent team player.
Particular experience of supporting/administering Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases would be advantageous but is not essential.
 
You will require:
  • Problem Solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience of investigating system faults and errors
  • Ability to liaise with software suppliers in the implementation and support of their software
  • Experience of implementing, testing and integrating new applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • A good general understanding of ICT, systems and ability to adapt and learn new technologies on the job
Whilst our job description includes a multitude of requirements to cover the diverse nature of the applications we implement and provision, ideally for this role you would have some knowledge in the implementation or support of one or more of the following technologies:
  • Microsoft SQL Server/Oracle database administration
  • Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services
  • IIS/Apache
  • Powershell/scripting
  • Microsoft Dynamics
  • Microsoft BizTalk
  • Geographical Information Systems
  • Oracle Apps
  • Microsoft Azure

Qualifications / Experience Test
