PRIDE 2

Chief Constable Jo Farrell was delighted to meet with the organisers of Durham Pride at HQ this week for their official 2021 launch.

Last year’s event had to be taken online due to Covid-19 but this year it will be held as a ticketed event on July 31.

CC Farrell said she was looking forward to celebrating this year’s event after last being able to attend in 2019.

She said: “I’m delighted that we’re able to hold the Pride event again in Durham City.

“Durham Constabulary is a huge supporter and has been for a number of years - it celebrates everything that’s positive about people who live, work and study across County Durham and Darlington.

“We have come a long way and we constantly listen and engage and take feedback from people in terms of how they feel about the way we represent them and the way we police.

“We can always improve of course so we are always open to feedback and suggestions.”
