  Junior Education and Diversion

What is Junior ED (Education and Diversion)?

 Durham Constabulary
Junior Ed is an eight week programme in which pupils will learn a variety of skills and gain knowledge through different workshops delivered by different organisations. We work within the schools' curriculum to contribute to lessons on PSHE covering topics such as; positive behaviour and citizenship skills, road safety, substance misuse, the consequences of choices and criminal activities.

It is lead by Durham Constabulary and work in partnership with Durham County Council, Darlington Borough Council, Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service, Lifeline, British Red Cross, RNLI and a variety of others.

This programme was designed to intervene early and prevent harm to children and young people, therefore reducing the risk of crimes being committed later in life.
