Foreign Nationals - Registration
If you are visiting the UK then you may need to register with the police. Check your visa from the British Embassy to confirm this.
Visitors from the following countries must register with the police within seven days of arriving in the UK:
Afghanistan, Algeria, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Colombia, Cuba, Egypt, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, North Korea, Oman, Palestine, Peru, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Yemen.
You are required to print and complete a foreign national registration form.

The police attend most University campus’s to register new international students. Contact your student services to arrange an appointment (Dates to attend are to be arranged)
If you do not register then you could be fined up to £5000 or sentenced to six months imprisonment, which might affect your stay in the country.
To register with the police you are required to bring with you the following items:
- Two colour passport photographs
- Passport
- £34.00 cash only
- Offer letter from University/Employment Contract
- Tenancy agreement – as proof of address
- Visa/Identity card
Foreign Nationals already registered must report any changes of:
- New address
- Landing conditions
- Extensions to your visa granted by the Home Office
- New passport
- New study information or change to university/college
- New employment
- Change of marital status
- Exemption from Police Registration
- Change of Nationality
- Children born and living in the UK
Any changes should be reported within 7 days
