Theft of high-value mountain bike

Police in Darlington are appealing for information after a mountain bike worth more than £4,000 was stolen from the back of a vehicle parked in the town yesterday afternoon (July 21).
The white and blue Giant Ancham Advance bicycle was fastened onto a rack on a silver-coloured VW Caravelle vehicle parked near the Binns store in High Row. The thief smashed the lock before removing the bike.
PC Neil McClintock said it is believed the bike was stolen at about 1pm while the owner was in Binns and appealed for anyone with information about the theft or the bike's whereabouts to contact police on 0345 6060 365 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
