How we deliver the pledge

Providing contact with Neighbourhood Policing Teams

As part of our policing pledge to you our Communication and Engagement team have been out in the community providing you with information about your neighbourhood policing team as well as finding out what matters to you!

We attended both the Durham City Miners Gala and the Bikewise event to chat to members of the public about policing as well as providing information and advice.

We also carried out a survey with members of the public and here’s what you told us………

9 in 10 of you feel safe in your local community
6 in 10 of you agree the police and local council are tackling the issues that matter in your neighbourhood
Visitors to the area feel safe when spending time in our force area
Half of you feel that the police and local council ask for your views about the issues

This is just some of the positive feedback you provided us with so thanks for everyone who took the time to fill in the survey and provide us with their views.

In addition to attending these events and gathering your views we also hold regular meetings within our communities and listen to concerns and address ongoing issues. PACT (Police and Communities Together) Meetings are held every 4-6 weeks in each neighbourhood across the force area.

They are a chance for you to meet with a representative from your neighbourhood policing team and discuss any issues which may be affecting your quality of life.

The meetings are open to everyone and are on occasion also attended by representatives from other agencies (County Council, Fire Service etc).

If you would like to know when your next PACT Meeting is or know anyone who would be interested in attending please visit click on the relevant area of the map on our homepage and find your neighbourhood.

Alternatively call 0345 60 60 365 and ask to speak to your Neighbourhood Policing Team.
