Emergency response organisations have a duty for warning and the provision of information and advice to the public. This can be achieved in Durham and Darlington in a number of ways:

• Through the provision of the Durham and Darlington Local Resilience Forum (LRF) website
• Through the provision of links to related websites in other response organisations (County Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue, Durham Constabulary, North East Ambulance Service)
• Through the publication of emergency plans
• Through the publication of informative articles in local newspapers (Northern Echo, The Journal)
• Through the publication of the Community Risk Register (CRR) in libraries
• Through the North East Information Line (NEIL)
