North Area - Consett
Neighbourhood Profile
Consett neighbourhood policing team covers a large geographical area.
This is made up of 13 council wards, a mix of densely populated areas such as Consett, Leadgate, Delves Lane and Blackhill and the rural communities of Castleside, Cornsay and Burnhope.
The area extends from Hamsterley Mill in the north to Langley Park in the south, Holmside in the east to Waskerley and Muggleswick in the west.
The area has relatively low crime, although criminal damage is a particular issue. Consett town centre has a booming night time economy which contributes greatly to trade in the area, but can lead to anti- social behaviour and disorder. We are reducing this through positive and proactive policing.

Your Neighbourhood Inspector
My name is Dave Turner and I am the Neighbourhood Inspector for the Consett area. I manage the neighbourhood policing teams and represent local policing at a variety of partnership groups. My focus is on working together with the community and partner organisations to make Consett a safer, more secure and confident community. I am based at the main police station at Consett where I am accessible to members of the community to discuss matters in our neighbourhood.
