Provision of Police Community Support Officers
The 2008/2009 revenue budget includes the salary and associated costs of 172 Police Community Support Officers, which equates to the Home Office target.
The total budget costs for these posts in 2008/2009 amounts to £4,065,000. We receive Home Office grant funding support of 75% of the salary costs for 130 of the posts; of 50% of the salary costs for a further 23 posts; and 11% of the salary costs of 18 of the posts.
For 2008/2009 we have received grant funding equivalent to 100% of the remaining post from Wear Valley District Council.
