Organised Crime Unit
The Force Organised Crime Unit consists of three teams of officers focused upon the proactive investigation of serious and organised criminality impacting upon communities in County Durham. This is achieved through acvtive conventional investigation, surveillance and use of specialist covert tactics.
The teams are variously qualified to national standards in a range of covert tactics and they include experienced detectives.
The teams also provide considerable support to neighbourhood policing initiatives and crime operations as well as training in specialist roles.
