Amanda’s team is split into two key functions; Strategic Planning and Corporate Communications & Engagement. Amanda and the Strategic Planning Team have responsibility for the co-ordination of strategic planning activity, the production of the force Corporate Plan, as well as efficiency planning and income generation. One of the team’s key areas of work at the moment is the production of a Citizen Focus style corporate plan and an action plan to ensure that the force implements and promotes the Policing Pledge effectively.
The main focus of the Strategic Planning team is business planning which includes a wide range of varied activity. The key areas of work are:
- Production of the Corporate Plan
- Production and co-ordination of departmental business plans
- Force strategy and policy management
- Statutory plans such as the Police Authority Annual Policing Plan, Annual Report and Local Policing Summary
- Efficiency planning and income generation
- Monitoring and administration of customer service complaints
- Research and analysis
- Production of an annual Organisational Assessment
More recently Amanda has established a Corporate Communication and Engagement Function for the force which aims to promote the organisation, ensuring that we provide timely and relevant information to the public and our staff. The Corporate Communication and Engagement Team were established in March 2009. Their key areas of work are:
- To provide an effective marketing function for the organisation
- To ensure that appropriate and relevant information and messages are clearly portrayed and accessible
- To keep the content of the website up to date
- Consult and engage with the community and our staff
- To continue to improve the way we communicate and engage with our customers
