Gillian and her team support Durham Constabulary in continually improving the level of service it provides to members of the public. The team is split into two key functions; Performance Analysis and Improvement & Inspection.
The Performance Analysis Team has responsibility for performance measurement and analysis in line with national and local priorities. This assists the organisation in understanding how well it is working with partners in tackling crime and anti-social behaviour issues that are affecting communities as well as understanding how well the force is tackling those things that the public have said are important to them. For example, the Performance Team measure and monitor levels of crime and anti social behaviour, performance with the Policing Pledge and how satisfied victims and members of the public feel with the services delivered.
The main focus of the Performance Analysis Team is reporting and analysing performance data including a range of varied activity. Key areas of work are:
- Reporting monthly performance data
- Producing accountability reports
- Area performance reports and analysis
- To provide information to the Home Office, Councils and other Partners
- Satisfaction and confidence surveys
- Freedom of Information Requests
The Improvement and Inspection Team’s main responsibilities are:
- To carry out planned inspections in line with force priorities to identify areas for improvement and best practice, in order to deliver an improved service to the public in an efficient and effective way.
- To ensure that we are compliant with national standards on how data is recorded on force systems (e.g. crimes, detections, victims and offenders)
- To liaise with external inspection organisations, for example Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) to co-ordinate on site inspections and the collection and return of any documentation required by them.
- To continually improve our working practices using recommendations from internal and external reports.
Performance Team, Proud to be………..monitoring success
