Procurement Branch
The aim of the Procurement Branch is to achieve best value for Durham Constabulary in the procurement of goods and services. This aim will be delivered through the Procurement Strategy and its associated action plan
The Procurement Branch deals with all contracts and orders for goods and services to meet the needs of Durham Constabulary.
The award of contracts for the supply of goods and services are managed in accordance with the Force and Police Authority financial instructions, and Police Authority Standing Orders. Durham Constabulary also complies with relevant legislation and EC directives in this process. Where appropriate, invitations to tender are advertised in the local press or trade journals, depending on the value of the contract.
A guide for suppliers on 'How to do Business with Durham Constabulary' has been developed.
In support of the achievement of best value, Durham Constabulary will seek to participate in national or regional contracts organised with other police forces for the supply of goods and services.
