Bikers Beware!

Due to a recent spate of road accidents involving motorcycles and vehicles at junctions, we are asking you to THINK!

We can all reflect while lying in a hospital bed (if you are lucky..) that you were not at fault, that the vehicle which collided with you should have waited -
BUT
What could you have done to prevent the accident ?

Have You Identified The Hazard?

(The paint on the road - Lane lines / Hazard lines are a good indication as to where a potential danger is)

Position To See And Be Seen

Always position yourself so that:

  • you can see as much of the road ahead as possible.
  • other road users can see you.
  • you minimize the overall danger from both sides of the road.
  • you try to get eye contact with drivers.

Always remember that if there is a collision between you and a vehicle, you and your bike will invariably come off worse, regardless of whose fault it may be.

Consider how you would deal with a vehicle unexpectedly pulling out in front of you - and expect it to !
